In June 2026, Agile attended BARNA Conference 2026 at Bush House, King’s College London, joining anaesthetic, recovery and perioperative professionals for a day of discussion, learning and shared insight.
Hosted by the British Anaesthetic and Recovery Nurses Association (BARNA), the conference brings together anaesthetic nurses, recovery and PACU nurses, ODPs and industry partners to explore clinical practice, education and the future of perioperative care.
For Agile, it was an opportunity to step away from the catalogue and spend time listening to the clinicians who use equipment like ours every day.
Alongside showcasing our Anaesthetic Trolley systems, the conversations focused on the realities of theatre and recovery environments. From organisation and workflow to accessibility and day-to-day usability, hearing directly from frontline teams reinforced something we’ve always believed:

Why BARNA matters to Agile
BARNA has a specialist focus on anaesthetic and recovery nursing, supporting education, clinical practice and professional development across the UK. The Charity Commission describes BARNA as the UK’s only professional association specialising in anaesthetic and recovery nursing, with activity including competency and educational material, an online journal, member communication, training, research, clinical audit and an annual conference.
For Agile, that specialist focus makes BARNA an important event.
Anaesthetic and recovery environments rely on equipment that has to perform consistently in fast-moving, high-pressure settings. Trolleys, storage systems and clinical furniture are not just background items. They support access, organisation and the movement of care across theatre and recovery spaces.
Attending BARNA gave Agile the opportunity to speak with the people who understand those environments best: the clinicians using them.

A key part of Agile’s presence at BARNA was listening.
Throughout the day, Agile spoke with clinicians from recovery and anaesthetic backgrounds, learning more about current trolley setups and hearing first-hand what works well, what causes friction and what teams value most in clinical storage.
That feedback is important because every theatre environment has its own requirements. Some teams may prioritise fast access to key consumables. Others may need clearer separation of equipment, improved drawer organisation, better visibility, or additional storage in a compact footprint.
These details may seem small in isolation, but they can have a direct impact on how confidently and efficiently clinical teams move through their work.

“For Agile, the BARNA Conference was an inspiring day. We were fortunate to speak with numerous clinicians from recovery and anaesthetic backgrounds, learning more about their current setups and hearing what does and doesn’t work with trolleys in practice.
Clinicians from both NHS and private backgrounds enjoyed the demonstration of our LX Anaesthetic Trolley. One message came through consistently from conversations at BARNA: in theatre and recovery environments, organisation matters.
